Program Summary

The Arts
Camp H.O.M.E. is designed to provide a challenging, integrative and exploratory summer program. Children will participate in an active hands-on learning environment where the artwork will express how they think, see, and feel about the world.

Some of the activities include: drawing, painting, printmaking, fiber arts, and mixed media. They will also learn the basic elements and concepts of arts such as vocabulary, exposure to great artists and their work, and an awareness of the role of the arts in many cultures.

Technology (Computer Class)
What makes Camp H.O.M.E. unique is the way the curriculum is designed. The curriculum is developed through a combination of arts and technology. The integration of technology into the curriculum will prepare our children for the changes occurring in our computer world. In addition, the children will have the opportunity to partake in computer lab every week.

The Children will:
• Explore graphics and begin word processing skills.
• Microsoft word, excel and other computer programs.

Dance Expression
The Children will:

• Identify and demonstrate movement elements in performing dance.
• Understand choreographic principles, processes and structures.
• Understand that dance is way to create meaning.
• Demonstrate and understand dance in various cultures and historical periods.
• Apply and demonstrate critical and creative thinking skill in dance.
• Make connections between dance and healthful living.
• Make connections between dance and other disciplines.

Music Appreciation
The Children will:
• Sing, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.
• Improvise melodies.
• Understand music in relation to culture and history, and in relation to the world beMUSIC
