If you do not call in an excused absence by 9:00am on a trip day, and your child has still not arrived at camp by that time, they will not be counted in the trip attendance. On regular field trips days, your camper must be at camp by 9:00am to be counted in the bus attendance. AGE GROUPS Campers are assigned to groups according to their age. Due to the number of campers attending camp each week, we CANNOT take special requests to keep friends, siblings or relatives of different ages together. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT Camp HOME has four core values that we strive to model and teach to our campers on a daily basis. They are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and are incorporated into our programs, discipline, and projects. CLOTHING Campers should wear simple, non-restrictive clothing that you do not mind getting dirty, muddy, wet, and possibly ruined. Shorts, jeans, sweatpants, tennis shoes and t-shirts are a good choice. It is recommended that your child wear a bathing suit under their clothes when there outside activities is schedule that include water. Their clothes will get dirty… its camp. For the Angels (five years old) you may want to send along an extra change of clothes, just in case. To minimize the chance of misplaced clothing, PLEASE LABEL ALL CLOTHING PROPERLY. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR MISSING ITEMS. Excessively short skirts or shorts are not acceptable attire. Wearing or displaying items of clothing jewelry or accessories representative of/or encouraging the use of alcoholic beverages, drugs or tobacco is prohibited. CELL PHONES OR WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICES These instruments are NOT to be used during the camp day by either campers or staff. In emergencies, campers can be reached by parents/guardians by calling our main office at (904) 764-8400. The Program Director & Camp Coordinator Assistant will have cell phones that may be contacted by the office if your camper is off site or on a field trip. If necessary, cell phones and other devices will be confiscated by staff and returned to the parent/guardian at the end of the camp day. The camp is not responsible for lost or stolen goods. DAILY ACTIVITIES There is no such thing as a typical day in day camp. We start off every day (6:30a.m.) with an opening activity and end every day (4:30 p.m.). The rest of the day is spent participating in various large and small group activities including, but not limited to: arts & crafts, science, and sports and games. Most of the day your child will be doing these activities with his/her assigned group. DISMISSAL Unless there is a family emergency, no camper will be dismissed during camp hours. Dismissal will only be made from the camp site. Campers may not be picked up at field trip or any off-site trip location. NO EXCEPTIONS! FIELD TRIPS Field trips are $9.00 per child and $7.00 per child for JCC participants. Campers must wear their camper T-shirt on all field trips. ILLNESS/INJURY Parents will be notified by camp personnel if their child has not been feeling well for a period of time and does not seem to be getting any better. Moderate injuries will also be communicated to the parent once proper first aid has taken place. In severe injuries needing higher medical attention, the parent or guardian will be contacted immediately. If the injury or illness occurs later in the day, you may be notified when your child is picked up depending on the severity of the injury or illness.
